PriceZag has been helping ecommerce businesses follow their competitors since 2016. We're based in Santa Monica, California, and work with online stores in the United States, Australia, Europe and other markets.

Price monitoring sounds simple until you need to check thousands of products, across many different websites, reliably and repeatedly. Since 2016, we've been building and improving a platform to do that work, so store owners can spend less time gathering information and more time making pricing decisions.

What PriceZag does

PriceZag is a competitor price monitoring and repricing platform for online stores. It tracks prices and stock availability on competing retailers' product pages, keeps a history of what it finds, and makes that information available through alerts, graphs, screenshots and Excel reports.

Stores can also create automatic repricing rules based on competitor prices, availability, costs and their own pricing strategy. Connections for Shopify and WooCommerce can import products and synchronize selling prices. For other systems, PriceZag offers a documented JSON API. Connecting a store is optional; monitoring and reports work without it.

Our own infrastructure, built for difficult websites

Modern ecommerce websites aren't always easy to monitor. Some require JavaScript, show different prices by country, or use technology that blocks automated visitors. That's why we invest in the monitoring infrastructure rather than relying on simple requests for a page's HTML.

Being based in Santa Monica, near a Google campus and a strong local technology community, has helped us build a team of experienced engineers dedicated to the difficult work behind reliable price monitoring. It's the technology we've focused on since 2016.

PriceZag uses full graphical browsers on our own servers, including hardware with different GPUs, together with thousands of IP addresses worldwide from multiple providers. We can retry difficult visits using different resources and select suitable locations for the retailers being checked. Sharing this infrastructure across customers makes capabilities that would be costly for an individual store practical as part of a subscription. No service can guarantee that every website will work perfectly all the time. When a page is successfully checked, PriceZag captures a screenshot of what our browser saw, so customers can inspect the source of a reported price. We also track pages that are failing and investigate problems reported through support tickets.

Straightforward pricing and support

Our prices are public. New customers can start without a credit card, use all features for the first 14 days, and then continue on the limited Free Forever plan if they choose. For paid subscriptions, we use Stripe to process payments.
