PriceZag features for competitor price monitoring

Explore PriceZag features for tracking competitor prices and stock, estimating sales, receiving alerts, exporting reports, automating repricing and more.

PriceZag monitors the product pages you choose and organizes the observations into tools for pricing decisions, reporting and automation. You can use individual features on their own or combine them as your needs change. Here is what each feature does.

Price tracking

Monitor competitor prices and stock availability across ecommerce websites. PriceZag visits the product-page URLs you specify using graphical browsers, records the prices it detects and keeps their history. Compare competing offers alongside your own selling price, see the lowest and average market prices, and follow changes in interactive graphs. When a retailer provides inventory quantities, PriceZag can record those too; otherwise it works with the availability information the site actually reveals. The platform supports international retailers and multiple currencies, and schedules checks according to each website's market and past behavior.

Competitor sales

Estimate how many units of a product a competitor may be selling by analyzing changes in its publicly visible inventory. PriceZag follows stock quantities across repeated website visits, considers replenishment and gaps in the readings, and uses the available history to estimate sales. You can examine estimates for individual products and understand which competing products may be moving faster. These figures are estimates derived from observed stock, not confirmed transactions or access to a retailer's private orders. The feature is most useful on websites that expose numerical inventory quantities.

Price alerts

Receive email or SMS notifications when competitor prices, stock or price rankings meet the conditions you set. Alerts can identify price reductions, percentage changes, products returning to stock, competitors running out of stock, opportunities to raise your price and other relevant events. Configure different rules for different products or categories, and send notifications to different recipients without requiring each recipient to have a PriceZag login. The system can group related notifications rather than sending a separate email for every observation. Alerts use the same monitoring data as the price-tracking dashboard, so you do not need a separate system to watch for changes.

Excel reports

Export monitoring data to formatted Excel (XLSX) spreadsheets, standard CSV or tab-separated files. Choose the columns and product categories you need, including competitor prices, your prices and costs, stock, market averages, rankings and other available metrics. Excel files use colors and formatting to make comparisons easier to review, while CSV is suited to processing in another system. You can build reports manually or schedule spreadsheet delivery by email. Historical reports let you analyze changes over time instead of relying only on current prices, and different teams can receive different selections of information.

Auto repricing

Calculate your selling prices automatically from competitor offers, stock availability and rules you define. A rule can follow the lowest or average competitor price while respecting limits based on your costs, minimum margins or other conditions. You can reuse rules across many products and apply optional price endings such as .99. Calculated prices can be reviewed or exported, sent to a Shopify or WooCommerce store through a direct integration, or applied to other systems through the PriceZag JSON API. You remain in control of which products use each rule and when repricing is enabled.

Screenshots

Inspect the actual website pages PriceZag saw when checking a competitor's product. The platform captures high-resolution screenshots during monitoring and keeps approximately 30 days of screenshot history, so you can revisit what a retailer actually displayed during previous checks. A screenshot helps you verify the displayed price and stock status, investigate an unexpected reading, or see what a retailer's page looked like before it changed. The screenshot viewer also shows the price and currency PriceZag extracted, its confidence in that reading, and the stock information detected. Screenshots are included with monitoring rather than requiring a separate screenshot subscription.

MAP monitoring

Track advertised prices for your own branded products across dealers, resellers and online retailers. Manufacturers, distributors and brand owners can use PriceZag to compare observed prices against their Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policies, review historical changes and investigate listings that may require attention. Email alerts help identify relevant price movements, while saved screenshots provide evidence of what a product page displayed at the time of a visit. You do not need to run your own ecommerce store to use this monitoring. PriceZag collects the observations; interpreting and enforcing a MAP policy remains your responsibility.

Works on protected sites

Monitor many ecommerce websites that are difficult for basic scrapers to access. PriceZag uses real graphical browsers, specialized infrastructure, varied IP addresses and retry logic to handle JavaScript-heavy websites and a range of anti-bot protections. The platform also considers geographic differences in how retailers display prices and availability. When a visit fails, monitoring systems can adjust and retry rather than treating the result as a valid price. No service can guarantee access to every website at every moment, but working with protected and technically demanding product pages is a central part of PriceZag's monitoring infrastructure.

Multi-user access

Give employees, managers, accountants and developers separate logins to one PriceZag account, each with the permissions appropriate to their work. Administrators can control viewing, creating, editing and deleting products; restrict access to selected product categories; and separately manage rights for alerts, reports, repricing rules, store connections, API keys, billing and support. Permission presets and copying another user's permissions simplify setup without removing individual control. Activity logs help identify who changed what, while user-specific security settings and temporary access disabling make it easier to manage access when responsibilities change.
